Does severance delay my unemployment claim?

I was offered severance of 9 weeks after being let go as an electrician's helper and I am unsure how it affects benefits. It has been weighing on me all week. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule.

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
