Does severance delay my unemployment claim? - 5 months and counting

I was offered severance of 13 weeks after being let go as an office manager and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Did you file straight away?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
