Does severance delay my unemployment claim? - 2 months and counting

I was offered severance of 8 weeks after being let go as an insurance claims processor and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I am in Tucson, in case local advice matters. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule. How did your state treat it?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
