Does severance delay my unemployment claim?

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I am in Albuquerque, in case local advice matters. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule. How did your state treat it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
