COBRA costs more than my rent, what did you do? - what worked for you?

The COBRA quote for my family is $250 a month and I do not know how to afford it. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I saw that marketplace plans might cost less. Did anyone switch mid-year?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
