COBRA costs more than my rent, what did you do? after 9 years as a school bus driver

I just got my COBRA paperwork and the deadline to decide is close. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I saw that marketplace plans might cost less. Did anyone switch mid-year?
