I lost my job as an accounts payable clerk and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. I am in Detroit, in case local advice matters. There are 14 people in my household.

Take photos of everything you send and write down the date. I had to resend one page and the record helped.

Ask about expedited service. I was told it depends on how little cash and income you have right now.
