Applying for food benefits after losing my job - first time posting

I lost my job as a production planner and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. Is there an expedited option for people with very little income?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 3 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
