Applying for food benefits after losing my job (Chicago)

I got a notice asking for proof of income and I am unsure what to send. I worked as a project coordinator before this. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. Is there an expedited option for people with very little income?

Ask about expedited service. I was told it depends on how little cash and income you have right now.
