Applying for food benefits after losing my job - any advice?

My SNAP recertification is coming up and my income changed a lot since my layoff. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a final pay stub, a termination letter and my unemployment approval. What did you submit and how long did approval take?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
