Applying for food benefits after losing my job - any advice?

I lost my job as a paralegal and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. There are 16 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a final pay stub, a termination letter and my unemployment approval.

I sent my last two pay stubs, the separation letter and a bank statement. I heard back in about 16 weeks, and my county offered an interview by phone.

Take photos of everything you send and write down the date. I had to resend one page and the record helped.
