Applying for food benefits after losing my job - any advice?

My SNAP recertification is coming up and my income changed a lot since my layoff. Any experience at all would help. There are 17 people in my household. What did you submit and how long did approval take?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I sent my last two pay stubs, the separation letter and a bank statement. I heard back in about 10 weeks, and my county offered an interview by phone.
