Applying for food benefits after losing my job after 15 years as a line cook

I got a notice asking for proof of income and I am unsure what to send. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. Did they ask for anything unexpected?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
