Applying for food benefits after losing my job

I got a notice asking for proof of income and I am unsure what to send. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. What did you submit and how long did approval take?

I sent my last two pay stubs, the separation letter and a bank statement. I heard back in about 25 weeks, and my county offered an interview by phone.
