Applying for food benefits after losing my job

I got a notice asking for proof of income and I am unsure what to send. I am in Buffalo, in case local advice matters. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. What did you submit and how long did approval take?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
